1. Introduction

This Privacy Notice explains how Local Link Louth Meath Fingal (Local Link LMF) (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our website, https://locallinklmf.ie.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in accordance with:

  • the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR),
  • the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988–2018, and
  • the ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. No. 336 of 2011) and the underlying ePrivacy Directive.

2. Who We Are

Local Link LMF (Meath Accessible Transport Project CLG) provides rural and community transport services across Louth, Meath, and Fingal, and is the Data Controller for the personal data described in this notice.

We do not use your personal data for any automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. How We Collect Your Data

We collect data when you:

  • Fill out a contact, booking, or training enquiry form on our website
  • Contact us by email or phone
  • Make a payment for a training course
  • Browse our website (via cookies and analytics tools, subject to your consent — see our Cookie Policy)

5. Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only where necessary, with:

  • Our website hosting provider
  • Our email service provider
  • Stripe, for processing course payments
  • Google Analytics, for website usage statistics (only once you have consented via our cookie banner)

All third parties are contractually required to process your data securely and in compliance with GDPR.

6. International Transfers

Some service providers we use (e.g. Google, Stripe) may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under GDPR, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected:

  • Contact/enquiry form submissions: retained for 24 months from last contact, then deleted, unless a longer period is required to resolve an ongoing query or complaint.
  • Booking and payment records: retained for 6 years to meet statutory tax and accounting obligations.
  • Analytics data (Google Analytics): retained for 14 months, in line with our Google Analytics configuration.
  • Cookie consent records: retained for 12 months, then refreshed on your next visit.

These periods are reviewed periodically and data is deleted or anonymised once no longer needed.

8. Your Data Protection Rights

Under GDPR Articles 12–22, you have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your data is collected and used (this notice)
  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) of your data, where applicable
  • Restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability — receive your data in a portable format
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling — as noted in Section 3, we do not carry out this type of processing

11. Security Measures

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including:

  • HTTPS encryption (with HSTS) across the entire website
  • Access controls limiting who can administer the website and its data
  • Regular security scanning and monitoring (e.g. web application firewall)
  • EEA-based website hosting
  • Restricted access to booking and payment data, limited to authorised staff

12. Governing Law

This Privacy Notice is governed by the laws of Ireland, and any disputes relating to it are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

13. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
